This short message marked the day my life changed, the day I started chatting with Howard Bragman. I was on tour, up before the repose of my band, sitting alone, and checking my Scruff DMs at the hotel breakfast.
I saw the usual suspects: “sup,” “hey,” and “lookin?” So when I read Howard’s message I idea, “Wow, this guy really gets me.” I checked his profile. Charismatic beam. Handsome. Sexy. He knew the difference between “they,” “they’re,” and “their.” And he not only listened to my music, but he name-checked two of my biggest influences.
I messaged back. “Oh wow, nailed it!”
The typing bubbles bounced on-screen while butterflies bounced around my stomach.
“Ok,” I consideration. “Game on!”
We flirted for a bit, and then exchanged numbers before I hopped in the van to top to the venue. We texted all day, trading pictures and feeling out expectations. We’d both gotten out of long-term relationships in the past year. He had just gone through a divorce, and I had an engagement fall apart. Neither of us wanted something serious.
Flash forward two months–we were inseparable. Howard and I became top friends despite

Politics and pop culture commentator Mike Muse expects change in Hollywood
— -- The path taken by politics and pop culture commentator Mike Muse from his childhood in Lansing, Michigan, to a national platform was not without its detours. A degree in industrial engineering from the University of Michigan brought him academic accolades, but not much else.
“I hadn’t really had the autonomy to explore anything else,” Muse told ABC News. “But I knew that I was unhappy.”
That was reason enough for Muse to leave behind a prestigious job offer and secure career path, and head to Florida. A bartending job paid the bills and kept him occupied while he rethought his path.
“In that process of finding myself, a buddy of mine called and said, ‘Hey Mike, would you mind being my manager of this music production company?’”
Muse was hesitant but eventually decided to walk that path with his friend. He’s been sprinting down it ever since that day and hasn’t looked back.
Managing the production company led to a new record label, which led to great success and in turn generated partnerships with corporate giants like Starbucks, McDonald’s, and the NFL.

All he did was “Kick in the Door” like The Notorious B.I.G. and is now a member of President Obama’s National Finance Committee.
Not bad for a male child growing up in the Midwest who now resides in, arguably, the biggest and most electrifying municipality, New York.
