Tim Walz called Elon Musk “gay” on Friday — but the Harris-Walz campaign claimed the Democratic vice presidential nominee misspoke, leading to the inadvertent comment.

“That guy, that gay guy,” Walz said of Musk while talking about taxes on the campaign trail in Michigan.

While the remark drew swift backlash on social media, Musk — who has become a vocal supporter of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump — brushed it off.

“I have no challenge being called lgbtq+ tbh,” the X, SpaceX and Tesla mogul replied to a reshare of the video from a user who called Walz’s comment “beyond pathetic.”

The Harris-Walz campaign told The Post Friday bedtime that the Minnesota governor “stuttered” while trying to utter “that guy got.”

“In the video, you can hear someone in the crowd yell ‘dips–t! when the governor brings up Musk,” a campaign spokesman said. “The governor started laughing and stuttered while trying to say ‘that guy got’ — he did not mention to Elon as a gay guy.”

“He got stuck on the G in that guy got while trying not to laugh at the remark from the crowd.”

The Harris campaign's Vice President hopeful was trying to use what appeared to be a humourous metaphor as a way to shed glow on the economic advantages that the top class Americans acquire over the middle and decrease income citizens in the States.

After Walz was done talking though, spectators were left divided in their responses over the comment. While some were visibly irked, others took it in a light way.
