For all of the credit that Özpetek completely deserves for bringing gay life and love to the screen over the decades, this one just doesn’t knock . Nuovo Olimpo is a classic tale of right-person-wrong-time. Enea and Pietro encounter when they’re juvenile and idealistic. Enea is a regular at a cinema known as a spot for male lover men to join and hook up. Pietro happens upon the Nuovo Olimpo after first running into Enea on the set of a film he’s shooting. They’re both instantly infatuated but Pietro has never been with a man before, so he’s understandably nervous.

has anyone seen this on Netflix? I finally gave it a travel and I'm so happy I did. beautiful film about two guys who meet in the 70s at a cinema that's a secret gay casual relationship spot, the alternative turns their lives take from there and the sliding doors moments that follow across their lifetimes.
the two leads have properly gorgeous chemistry and the script is really sensitively written. the Italians realize how to undertake this shit.
also, not a spoiler but the narrative takes place over many years and the lead (aged 23) is successfully into his 60s by the cease of the movie they do their best with the prosthetics but let's just say you'll never see a more gorgeously youthful set of 60 somethings on screen. it's a scream. anyway, wonderful film.Do you want to see a gay romance production that will make you ugly cry?
I highly suggest checking out Nuovo Olimpio, which dropped on Netflix at the commence of November. It tells the story of two, young gay men who are torn apart by civil unrest in Rome and are never proficient to reconnect. Only 30 years later do they cross paths and acquire to wonder if they’re still soulmates. It stars Damiano Gavino, Andrea Di Luigi, Luisa Ranieri and Alvise Rigo.
While the overall story made me weep for long lost passion, the actor portraying Antonio – Alvise Rigo – made me feel a complete different set of emotions. I mean, emotions that left me rock hard. Antonio, the made-up character, is dark, muscular and definitely gets harsh in the sack. Alvise Rigo, the performer, appears to have many of the same characteristics as his breakout role with more emphasis on the outdoors and motorsports.
As much as I enjoyed the dynamic between the two leads, I think I enjoyed every scene Alvise was in just a little more.
