Marvel breaks silence on X-Men '97 creator Beau DeMayo's shock sacking... after he claimed Gay Pride publish cost him his job
Marvel Studios is speaking out about the unexpected firing of X-Men '97 author Beau DeMayo in March.
On Thursday, the film studio, which is owned by Disney, shared a remark with Variety claiming that DeMayo — who also served as the leader writer on the animated series — had been fired for 'egregious' misconduct at the conclusion of an investigation.
The studio place out its statement not long after DeMayo took to social media to reshare a post from June's Gay Pride celebrations.
In is new post, he claimed that Disney had stripped him of his writing credits on X-Men '97 season two episodes in response to his original Pride post.
DailyMail.com has contacted DeMayo's attorney and Disney requesting comment.

Updated with Marvel’s statement. Beau DeMayo exited X-Men ’97 ahead of its premiere earlier this year, and the creator and former head writer is hinting at why Marvel and Disney+ took away his name from the second season.
In a new social media post, DeMayo broke his silence on one of the reasons his credits for Season 2 were stripped away.
“Firstly, I’m so grateful to have worked on #XMen97, collaborating with some amazingly talented folks. Creating this revival was a dream come genuine and the back fans have shown is so touching,” DeMayo shared on X, the microblogging platform formerly established as Twitter.
He continued, “However, I felt it pressing for me to speak up in the get up of leaving the show…”

Five months after Marvel Studiosfired X-Men ’97 creator Beau DeMayo for mysterious reasons, the writer claimed Thursday that he no longer will acquire credit on the second season of the hit Disney+ present, which he completed work on before his exit. Marvel shot back soon after, and in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, gave insight into his firing, saying it occurred after an internal investigation revealed “egregious” findings.
